What is a Reform Jewish Day School?

The Day School at Baltimore Hebrew is a Reform Jewish School serving students from elementary through eighth grade.  Our school provides an exceptional academic & Judaic education, fostering lifetime leaders & community leadership.

Why should you choose The Day School at Baltimore Hebrew?

The Day School provides an intellectual, spiritual, and value driven curriculum for each child.  Providing individualized attention, and small class sizes, our teachers are able to cater to individual needs.

How will The Day School prepare my child for high school & beyond?

Providing a framework of Jewish values & living, our students learn to engage in the larger world while still possessing a strong sense of whom they are.  They become committed to social action programs that reach far beyond classroom walls & are thus amazingly adept to handle any situation presented to them.

How does The Day School provide both a Jewish and general studies education?

By integrating Judaic studies with the secular curriculum students acquire a solid foundation in Jewish history & culture.  In addition to specific classes in modern Hebrew & Judaic studies, the fundamental value of performing Mitzvot is consistently integrated.

Where do students go after graduation?

Offering an exceptional preparation for high school, our graduates are welcomed at every private & public high school in Baltimore.  In addition, they will go on to attend the most prestigious public and private colleges at disproportionately high rates. Including University of Pennsylvania, Swarthmore, Emory, Brandeis, Wesleyan University, and other quality institutions.

Are children of interfaith parents allowed to enroll?

Absolutely. Approximately one third of our families are interfaith families. Our interfaith families are a core and valued part of our Day School community.

We’re not Reform, can my child attend The Day School?

Absolutely, our students range from secular to Orthodox. We are a Reform school with a pluralistic vision. We teach that there are a range of Jewish practices and honor that each family chooses its own Jewish practice.

Do we need to be members of Baltimore Hebrew?

No, The Day School at Baltimore Hebrew welcomes all families.

I want a diverse school, does your school have a diverse student population?

Diversity is a core value at The Day School. Students of color make up 15% of our student community. All students are embraced and valued for who they are.

Do you have aftercare?

Yes. Aftercare is available Monday through Friday until 5:30 pm. In addition, students may enroll in after-school activities and athletics.

I’m not sure if I can afford The Day School, should we still apply?

Yes, definitely apply. There are a variety of options for affording The Day School such as financial aid, the Hebrew Free Loan program, sibling discounts, and payment plans. Please come in, see our school, apply and allow us to give you the information you need to provide your children with a quality education.
